Effective Interprofessional Faculty Development
- October 18, 2012 (approx. download time: 4 minutes)
Cecilia Rokusek, Ed.D., R.D., Executive Director of Education, Planning, and Research, Interprofessional Education - Project Director, Nova Southeastern University
This webinar provides participants with an interactive faculty development program focused on current concepts in interprofessional education and practice. Given a dynamically changing health care system with so many uncertainties, interprofessional team-based practice will be more important in the 21st century. Team-based practice better addresses the needs of the health care consumer, who is a member of the health care team. Each and every health care discipline has a role on the team and must take an active role on the team. Understanding the roles of each discipline is essential. Unfortunately, interprofessional education and collaborative practice have not often been accepted nor have they found a place in education and health care delivery. This session provides faculty with tools to help make interprofessional education and practice a sustainable reality.

-
March 29, 2011 (approx. download time: 2 min)
with Cecilia Rokusek, Ed.D., R.D., Project Manager, Center for Bioterrorism and All-Hazards Preparedness, Nova Southeastern University
Manmade and natural disasters are a reality throughout the world. Health professionals at every level must be able to plan for and respond to disasters. It is critically important that time in the interdisciplinary curriculum be identified for students to learn the basics of planning, mitigation, response, and recovery. This webinar discusses ways in which core areas in emergency preparedness and disaster response can be effectively integrated into the existing curriculum.
