Annual Business Meeting of the Commission

Each April, CAAHEP hosts an Annual Business Meeting of the Commission. The meeting is open for anyone to attend, however, only Commissioners or Commissioner Alternates are able to vote. During the Annual Business Meeting, the Commission takes action on such items as electing members of the Board of Directors, voting on new sponsoring organizations, professions, and/or committees on accreditation, approving Bylaws amendments, etc. The Annual Business Meeting can be held as a face-to-face meeting or through virtual meeting services.

According to section V.10 of the organization's Bylaws, notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) will be held virtually via Zoom on Thursday, June 16, 2022, commencing at 5:00 PM, EDT. This will be a brief meeting, with one item on the agenda, as outlined below.

The business of the Special Meeting will be:

 

Election of Board Members

To consider the following nominees for election to the Board of Directors representing the At-Large Educational Institution membership category.

 

Nominations received from the floor during the Annual Business Meeting of the Commission on April 29, 2022, and determined to be eligible for election by the Nomination and Elections Committee include

 

  • Richard Palma, Hospital-Based CAAHEP Commissioner

  • Thomas Platt, Hospital-Based CAAHEP Commissioner

 

Voting

By virtue of the CAAHEP Bylaws, Section V. 12.

 

All actions of the Commission shall be by majority vote at a meeting of the Commission (a meeting may be held via interactive electronic means). Except as otherwise provided by the Bylaws or required by law, voting by Commissioners shall be in person or via interactive electronic means, and each Commissioner is entitled to one vote. An Alternate may only vote in the place of a Commissioner at Commission meetings.
